Introduction
The PCL-752 is an intelligent PC-system monitoring card that can
detect the system operating conditions and generate alarm outputs or
messages to notify the user to take necessary action to avert system
failure. The PCL-752 transforms ordinary industrial PCs into intelli-
gent, self-diagnostic PCs. It also adds a dimension of reliability to
critical applications such as automated telephony.
Powerful Function
The PCL-752 can detect a wide variety of internal system conditions,
including temperature, voltage, fan rotation, power supply or CPU
operations such as watchdog timer. Depending on the alarm level or
user setup, it can generate several different alarm outputs, including
acoustic signal, system reset, relay output, or send out messages
through the serial port. The on-board CPU allows the user to set the
alarm criteria of each sense input independently, and to program
different alarm outputs to meet user requirements.
High Reliability
The PCL-752 features a built-in watchdog timer to ensure reliability.
Digital input lines are isolated up to 2000 VDc to prevent damage due
to high voltage input. The board’s battery backup enables the PCL-
752 to perform its alarm function even during total system power
failure.
Remote Monitoring
The PCL-752 is equipped with a serial port that can be used to link a
number of computers installed with the PCL-752. Through this serial
port, the user is able to monitor computers from one central computer.
This serial port can be configured as RS-232 to connect to a computer
nearby, or as RS-485 to cover a communication distance up to 4000
feet. By using a modem, users can even connect to anywhere a
telephone cable is available.

The PCL-721/723 is a 32/24-channel digital input card with independent
interrupt capabilities that allows the PCL-721/723 to work in the
background while the processor perform other jobs in the foreground. With
this feature, your system can do real-time Process monitoring without
polling its inputs, channel by channel.The PCL-721/723 has two modes: normal and interrupt. While it is set to
normal mode, the PCL-721/723 serves as a general purpose multi-channel
digital input card. However,if it is set to interrupt mode, then each channel
will generate an interrupt request to the PC, once the channel input has
changed.The 32digital input channels ofthe PCL-721 are divided into 4 groups. The
24 digital input channels of the PCL-723 are divided into 3 groups. Each
group handles8 digital input channels. There is a register that reflects the
interrupt status of each groups. Users can first read this register to check
which group caused the interrupt, then by reading the 8channels’ status of
that group, you can easily find which channel generated the interrupt. This
two-pass feature saves lot of time to determine which service routine should
be executed in your ISR (Interrupt Service Routine).The PCL-721/723 is easy to configure. No switch or jumper settings are
